Best Doctors

Congratulations to Dr. Richard Bucholz! He is recognized by St. Louis Magazine's Best Doctors 2016 in Neurosurgery. The list is based on the annual "Best Doctors in America" database, which considers more than one million peer evaluations to create a directory of approximately 40,000 doctors, from 40 medical specialties.

Department of Neurosurgery and Walter E Dandy Neurosurgical Society is hosting two courses in Bucharest, Romania June 3rd and 4th.

Dr. Abdulrauf was the honored guest lecturer for Neurosurgery 101, for medical students, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on March 26th, 2016.

Dr. Abdulrauf presented lectures at the Neurosurgery 101 in Porto, Portugal on February 19, 2016 hosted by the Portugal Chapter of the Walter E Dandy Neurosurgical Society.

Dr. Elbabaa was invited as a Visiting Professor at the Department of Neurosurgery at Miguel Hernandez University and Alicante University Hospital in Alicante, Spain on January 27-28, 2016. He lectured on "Fetal in-utero Microneurosurgery for Myelomeningocele - Saint Louis University Experience." The Grand Rounds lecture was well attended by local and regional faculty, residents and medical students.

Dr. Abdulrauf is presenting lectures at the Europe Operative Techniques Symposium and the EC-IC Bypass Hands-on workshop with the Neurosurgical 101 Course for Students on September 17-24 in Opole, Poland and Katowice, Poland.

Dr. Abdulrauf discusses his collaboration with radiologist and engineers utilizing the technology of 3D Printing.

The Department of Neurosurgery and co-sponsoring departments are hosting guest speaker Trent Cherry to talk about "Performance Under Pressure: WhenSeconds Matter in Car Racing and Medicine."

Dr. Bucholz is an invited speaker at a special Neurovation Symposium at the Congress of Neurological Surgeons Annual Meeting.

Dr. Samer Elbabaa, associate professor of neurological surgery, was invested as the Reinert Endowed Chair in Pediatric Neurosurgery.

Dr. Abdulrauf was featured as the cover story in Town & Style for the development of an innovative brain bypass procedure, known as the Abdulrauf bypass.

A new high-flow procedure means improved outcomes for patients. The technique is less invasive and keeps more blood flowing in the brain than previous surgeries.
