Billikens make a difference in communities near and far. Read about just a few Saint Louis University graduates making an impact.

Andy Irakoze (A&S '22, GRAD SSE '23) joined Moii Coffee as co-founder and chief technology officer this summer. Moii Coffee began with Firaol Ahmed, a senior in the  Richard A. Chaifetz School of Business, selling coffee out of his residence hall at SLU. It has grown into a supply chain and logistics firm connecting coffee farmers in Africa with roasters in North America.

It would be impossible to tell the story of Saint Louis University men’s soccer without including John Klein. All three of them. Three generations of Kleins have donned the blue and white of the Billikens. Along the way, the Kleins have established a legacy at SLU. Following his successful SLU career, Klein III was able to stay in St. Louis. St. Louis City SC took him 30th overall in the 2022 MLS SuperDraft.

Virginia "Ginny" Herrmann, M.D. (SOM 74), blazed a trail as one an American female surgeon. Fifty years after she graduated at the top of her class from Saint Louis University School of Medicine, Dr. Herrmann’s legacy will continue to inspire new ways of serving others.

The indelible mark Mary Bruemmer (A&S ‘42, ‘60) made on Saint Louis University in her more than 100 years of life can be found all across campus — from the Bruemmer Conference Room in DuBourg Hall to Bruemmer Plaza outside Spring Hall or the two campus statues dedicated in her name.
