Saint Louis University’s One-Year MBA at the Richard A. Chaifetz School of Business is an intensive, cohort-based program designed to develop data-driven, strategically minded business leaders in just 11 months. The curriculum integrates business disciplines with a strong emphasis on analytics, enabling students to apply quantitative tools and insights to complex decision-making in today’s dynamic business environment.
Curriculum Overview
SLU's One-Year MBA is a 48-credit-hour, analytics-focused program that begins each June and spans three terms — summer, fall and spring. Students complete 18.5 credits during the summer term, followed by 14 credits in the fall and 15.5 credits in the spring.
The integrated curriculum connects core business disciplines, helping students develop a multifunctional approach to solving business problems. Summer coursework establishes foundational business knowledge, while the fall and spring terms emphasize applied, team-based learning.
Throughout the program, students build proficiency in data analysis and apply these skills through a live consulting practicum. Working with corporate and nonprofit partners, students analyze real data, generate insights and deliver actionable solutions with guidance from faculty mentors.
The program also includes a global immersion experience between the fall and spring terms, providing exposure to international business environments and strengthening students’ understanding of global markets and strategy.
Careers
Students are supported throughout the entirety of their careers by the Valerie A. Davisson Career Resources Center, which provides individualized coaching, professional development programming and access to a strong network of employers and alumni. Through structured career preparation and ongoing advising, students refine their goals, strengthen their professional skills and develop effective job search strategies.
Graduates of the One-Year MBA program pursue roles across a range of industries, including positions such as business analyst, consulting associate, supply chain analyst, marketing associate and project manager, leveraging their analytical and strategic capabilities to drive organizational performance.
Admission Requirements
The Chaifetz School uses a holistic admissions approach to carefully evaluate all applicants, considering every aspect of their application. While an undergraduate degree is required for admission, a business background is not. A completed application includes:

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis once all application materials are received. The average time for admissions decisions is two weeks.

- The graduate admissions team in the Business Programs Office reserves the right to request an applicant submit a WES or ECE evaluation.
