University Celebrates Workday@SLU Launch
01/02/2020
Workday@SLU has officially launched, with all the University’s HR functions moving to the new system on Wednesday, Jan. 1.
Over the next few weeks, employees will need to log into Workday to complete tasks related to their pay, benefits and personal information. Workday can be accessed through the tools tab of mySLU.
This week, employees are being asked to verify the following information:
- Legal name
- Cell number(s) for the Rave Alert emergency notification system
- Emergency contacts
- Payment and tax-withholding elections
Next week, employees will be reminded to verify their beneficiary information. The week following, they’ll be prompted to verify other personal demographic information. Employees can refer to a Welcome to Workday Guide, which provides instructions on completing these initial tasks.
A recent special edition of the HR Bulletin outlined the various ways employees can get assistance as they begin working in the new system, including reaching out to their Workday Champions, as well as training opportunities.
Now that Workday is live, many employee-related items have been removed from Banner Self-Service and the employee tab of mySLU. Historical information, such as past payroll details, are still available through Banner Self-Service.
Another milestone in the project came last month with the team completing the first configuration of Workday Finance. Testing begins later this month and will continue through late May. Finance functions are set to move to Workday on Wednesday, July 1.
