Saint Louis University's Division of Marketing and Communications won five national Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) Circle of Excellence Awards.
The CASE Circle of Excellence Awards “celebrate the creative, resourceful, and innovative ways advancement professionals around the globe champion their institutions’ success.”
The five national awards were for:
- Digital Campaigns (Student-oriented) (Silver) — HGTV-Inspired Dorm Tours
- Environmental Graphics (Silver) — Campus Map Kiosks
- Specialty Pieces (Silver) — Campus Map Kiosks
- Publications Design (Silver) — 2021 President's Report
- Publications: President's Reports and Annual Reports (Silver) — 2021 President's Report
“Achieving this level of recognition is tremendous,” said Anita Borgmeyer, vice president of marketing and communications. “Congratulations to the team and our partners.”
The HGTV-Inspired Dorm Tours are a series of videos that were cited for “content and quality” by the judges. The President’s Report was called “visually appealing” and a “well-designed and written report with clever integration of photography with key messages” in the notes from the judges.
Judges praised the Campus Map Kiosks for their high usability and “the detail work with the addition of patterns, layers, lighting, branded elements, and clear typography (that) elevated this project into the pool of award winners.”
The University competed against universities nationwide including Duke University, Northwestern University, Princeton University, MIT, Harvard University and Yale University.
As a Circle of Excellence winner, an entry can be recognized at the global level with a Grand Gold, Gold, Silver, or Bronze Circle of Excellence award. Then, each CASE global region (Asia-Pacific, Europe, and Latin America) and each U.S. district will consider nominations submitted by their local institutions for their “Best of” recognition. The Best of CASE District/Region awards will be announced later this year. SLU’s entries will compete in CASE District VI.
