Goals
Our goals are organized around the following principles as developed and maintained by the Departmental DEI committee.
Inform/Advise
- Record and communicate departmental efforts to help inform and promote DEI issues in the department.
- Provide equitable access to resources for our diverse community of students in Mathematics and Statistics.
- Coordinate our efforts with the Madrid mathematics program when appropriate.
Support
- Support student groups that have a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in mathematics.
- Provide resources to our students so that all students are supported in academic endeavors.
- Coordinate scholarships or other funds to support equitable access to course materials.
Outreach
- Identify and build partnerships with regional institutions and organizations that share our commitment to DEI.
- Mentor students at SLU as well as through national or local organizations.
