Learning Community Medallion Symbolism
The front of the learning community medallion features a fleur-de-lis, a laurel —
which symbolizes accomplishment, achievement and honor — and the words “Saint Louis
University Learning Community Scholar.”
On the back of the medallion is a quote that embodies the lifelong learning goals
of SLU’s learning community program:
The more you know yourself, the more clarity there is. Self-knowledge has no end — you don't come to an achievement, you don't come to a conclusion. It is an endless river.
